Intervoice Launches Media Exchange with HomeZone and Pioneers Application Migration Path to a Complete IMS Network

Solution empowers subscribers to navigate seamlessly and simultaneously between applications independent of network infrastructure

DALLAS and SINGAPORE (CommunicAsia), June 13, 2007 – Today Intervoice, Inc. (NASDAQ: INTV) announced Media Exchange with HomeZone™, the latest release of its unified communications platform for service providers.  Intervoice enhanced the platform to include leading-edge technology to enable multimodal applications as part of the HomeZone personal interaction framework.  Media Exchange provides the foundation for future revenue growth and facilitates the transition of traditional TDM applications and services to SIP and IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem).  Coupled with this industry-leading service creation and delivery platform Intervoice offers a suite of applications including voicemail, videomail, Voice SMS, Voice to MMS, address book and calendar.

HomeZone helps subscribers manage important personal data, such as log-ins and profiles, contacts, and greetings, and has been enhanced by Intervoice’s pioneering efforts with SCXML (State Chart Extensible Markup Language).  For example, while using a mobile device SCXML enables single session multitasking for seamless and simultaneous navigation between applications independent of the network infrastructure.  SCXML also enables the creation of multimodal applications at the network level, eliminating the need to download additional software onto the device.

Intervoice’s leadership in utilizing the SCXML standard is also instrumental in helping service providers’ transition applications from TDM to SIP and IMS. The new version of Media Exchange takes applications written in SCXML and dynamically renders them to CCXML (Call Control Extensible Markup Language) or SIP depending on network requirements.  This means that applications evolve with the network thereby eliminating the need for expensive and time-consuming upgrades or rewrites as networks evolve from TDM to SIP and IMS.

”Delivering a common ‘look and feel’ customized end-user experience is becoming a key objective for service providers as the needs for service differentiation and subscriber retention increase,” said Ronald Gruia, principal telecom analyst, Frost & Sullivan.  “With its latest release of Media Exchange, Intervoice has demonstrated its strong commitment to helping operators achieve these goals via HomeZone, a user interface that is extensible and customizable by the carrier, while being as simple or complex as required by the subscriber.  This latest release of Media Exchange represents an important milestone for Intervoice as the company positions itself as a top-echelon player in the carrier messaging market.”

Last March Intervoice announced its voice portal packages for the enterprise based on the Media Exchange platform.  It is the first commercially available solution to utilize SCXML to enable multimodal interaction spanning customer self-service and live assistance.  (Click here to view press release)
