IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)
IP Multimedia Subsytem (IMS)
IMS will open up the communications environment to new ways of doing business. While much attention has been given to IMS infrastructure, IMS is really about delivering services in new, more interactive, and personalized ways, thus adding more value and generating incremental revenues. And it's growing: Frost and Sullivan estimates that by 2010 there will be a half a billion IMS users worldwide.
IMS promises to bring a wide range of capabilities to the telecommunications marketplace, and in this highly competitive environment, service providers will need to be ready to incorporate and deliver on this potential, or risk being left behind. IMS promises to bring the ability to:
- Enable the applications of the future to be adaptive and seamlessly available anywhere.
- Bring ease of use and seamless integration-information will be pushed to available end-users so they can decide in real-time how to handle an incoming event.
- Provide multimodal interfaces, including speech.
- Offer a common foundation for fixed, mobile and enterprise services.
- Enable cost-effective and accelerated introduction of new, innovative services.
Intervoice anticipated this IMS structure and incorporated many key elements into our IP-based enhanced services framework -- Intervoice Media Exchange with HomeZone. Specifically, Intervoice designed Media Exchange to separate application functionality from the network interface. This separation allows all Media Exchange applications to function on any network.
With extensive experience in service interaction across a variety of industry verticals such as banking, tourism, healthcare and messaging, Intervoice is in a unique position to help service providers deliver on the promise of IMS, laying the foundation for blending service features to create intelligent 'lifestyle' services.
Some of the advantages that Intervoice brings to IMS solutions include:
- Proven IMS Architecture - Media Exchange leverages SOA in a multi-layer network architecture proven to support the rapid integration of new features and services, allowing service providers to remain responsive to swift market changes. Application Development - With Media Exchange, Intervoice built on its experience in development tools to create a platform which allows a high degree of extensibility, rapid accelerated application development and broad service creation capabilities.
- Future Proof - Media Exchange supports multiple interfaces, including SIP, SIGTRAN and SS7, to meet the needs of any network. Applications seamlessly transition from TDM to SIP to IMS, or support multiple technologies simultaneously as the network grows.
- Scalable - Intervoice has successfully and cost effectively deployed Media Exchange in networks ranging from 100,000 subscribers to tens of millions, all in an environment that supports data traffic optimization and service latency reduction.
- Subscriber Focused - Intervoice builds all its solutions with the end user's needs in mind. We leverage our extensive experience in creating rich self service applications across multiple user environments to deliver not just a technology solution, but a total subscriber solution.
- Packaged Applications - The Media Exchange suite of packaged applications including Voicemail and Voice SMS are all designed for TDM and IMS environments.
- Network IVR - Intervoice has extensive experience helping customers migrate existing subscriber voice portal applications or deploying new custom applications into IMS networks. Previous IMS applications have included including such as prepaid top-up, traffic information, account inquiries, horoscopes, news and store locator information.
